  • The opponens digiti minimi (also opponens digiti minimi muscle, opponens digiti quinti, latin: musculus opponens digiti minimi) is a muscle of the sole of the foot.

    The opponens digiti minimi originates from the base of the fifth metatarsal bone and the long plantar ligament. The opponens digiti minimi inserts onto the lateral surface of the fifth metatarsal bone.

    The main functions of the opponens digiti minimi are adduction and opposition of the little toe.
