Psoas minor

  • The psoas minor (also psoas minor muscle, latin: musculus psoas minor) is a long, slim skeletal muscle lying anterior to the psoas major muscle.

The psoas minor originates from the lateral surface of the twelfth thoracic (T12) and first lumbar (L1) vertebrae. The psoas minor inserts on the iliopubic eminence.

The functions of psoas minor are stabilizing the pelvis and the hip joint, and flexion of the trunk.
